It all started in 1984 when Gabriel Oduyemi a successful international businessman from Nigeria got married to Roselyn Ndokali an academician from Cameroun in their living room. A prophecy went forth that a church be established. The Groom was not too happy with the prophecy at the time but the bride simply said, “Let the will of God be done”.
Gabriel Oduyemi who never saw the four walls of a theological college was angry and nervous when God called him to abandon all for His service. Finally in 1989 inspite of his conservativeness, a very high standard life-style he lifted up his hands and gave it all up for God.
The church which started in the living room, had to move to the garage and then under canopies to take more people. Miracles happened by the second. Kofo Abayomi became a weekly pilgrimage resort to many seeking God.
Finally the church, which by this time had become very large had to move to a glorious land which God used the then Lagos State Governor, Col. Raji Rasaki to give the church, two hecteres of land along Lekki-Ajah expressway, which is now the current location of the church, (A.k.a Wonder City).

Prophet/Apostle Gabriel Oduyemi (1938 – 2005) a businessman of high repute was ordained by the Holy Ghost Himself and called into the office of the Prophet sent to nations with undeniable proofs and reports to the glory of God. God’s directive to the Prophet has been to raise Quality Christians and an overcoming army that would serve God in the Spirit and in truth, for the end-time move of the Holy Ghost.
His vision therefore, is soul winning through end-time evangelism which is in line with the scripture in Matthew 24:14 “ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”.
To actualize his vision, he operated in total obedience to Go-given mandates. Having surpassed the initial mandates of winning 50 million souls and 200 million souls in the 1980s and 90s respectively. Before he went to be with the Lord, his new mandate was Redeeming Africa for Christ This Decade.
He was married to Rev. Roselyn Oduyemi and they are blessed with seven children and many spiritual children scattered all over the face of the earth.
